It is important to celebrate your successes – a thing that many of us fail to do often enough.
I, like many others often get caught up in the pressures of the day, the stresses of day to day living that I just forget to think about what has gone well. Well, the end of the year feels like as good a time as any to look back on the year and acknowledge my achievements, note down the things that I’ve enjoyed and the lessons that I’ve learned. So here goes;
My Achievements include raising circa £2500 for my chosen charity – NWAA, undertaking two significant cycling challenges, the first -Manchester to Blackpool, quickly followed by London to Paris and signing up for a photography diploma course.
I’ve been fortunate to have visited some amazing places and stayed in great hotels – the trip to Venice in February was spectacular, we stated at the Gritti Palace – an exquisite hotel during the Carnivale. Our trip to Richmond in summer, staying at the Bingham was equally superb – a great couple of days including a Paul Weller show at Kew Gardens. We also took the whole family up to Scotland to revisit old times and show my two older children where they were born. We’ve had two relaxing weeks in the sun, one in Cyprus and one in Spain – both came just at the right time.
In terms of lessons learned, the most obvious one is to not get to stressed out about things, just deal with them and move on – I’ve been guilty of getting worked up and worrying about small things that in the overall scheme of things don’t really matter.
Yes, 2013 has been a good year and we are now well set for a great 2014.
See you in the New Year!
